The Telekom Austria Share as a Sustainable Investment
Besides the traditional criteria on which financial analysis is based, sustainable investments additionally take into account social and environmental aspects.
Investment decisions are increasingly based on criteria such as corporate governance, management and corporate culture or the management's attitude to sustainable earnings development and environmental issues.Investors are also attaching greater importance to socially responsible management with a long-term focus. This policy has been confirmed by the recent excellent performance of equity funds investing only in sustainably-oriented companies. A positive investment decision by these funds is contingent upon a recommendation by an independent rating agency based on sustainability criteria.
Telekom Austria was included from the very beginning in the FTSE4Good Index, which was first issued in June 2001. This index enables targeted investments in companies according to their efforts concerning social responsibility.
In 2002 Telekom Austria was evaluated by the Munich-based rating agency oekom research AG within the framework of a corporate responsibility survey.
Telekom Austria was included on the recommendation list for sustainable investment products.
Telekom Austria is a member of the first Austrian Sustainability Index VÖNIX (VBV-Österreichischer Nachhaltigkeits-Index) which was launched on June 17, 2005.
