"Digital Turn" Between Technical Possibilities and Individual Responsibility – Ethical Challenges of the Information Society

With digitalization communication has completely changed – in the private as well as in the public area. The social consequences are currently being analyzed under the term "mediatization". What is lacking are considerations on individual responsibility as part of such public possibilities. The concluding lecture in the "Hedy Lamarr Lecture Series" attempts to tie social development to individual responsibility under ethical perspectives of social development to individual responsibility. For this a view is needed that goes beyond technical factors and social institutions.
