Telekom Austria Group to Offer Mobile Broadband Services in Belarus
Wien, am 11. Mai 2009: Die Telekom Austria Group (VSE: TKA, OTC US: TKAGY) verlautbarte heute, dass Velcom, die weißrussische Mobilkommunikationstochter, ihren Kunden mobiles Breitband in Kooperation mit Belcel, einem Mobilkommunikations-unternehmen, anbieten wird. Der Service basiert auf der CDMA 450/EV-DO Rev a Technologie mit Datenübertragungsraten von bis zu 3,1 Mbit/s.

Mai 2009: Die Telekom Austria Group (VSE: TKA, OTC US: TKAGY) verlautbarte heute, dass Velcom, die weißrussische Mobilkommunikationstochter, ihren Kunden mobiles Breitband in Kooperation mit Belcel, einem Mobilkommunikations-unternehmen, anbieten wird. Der Service basiert auf der CDMA 450/EV-DO Rev a Technologie mit Datenübertragungsraten von bis zu 3,1 Mbit/s.
Velcom entered into an exclusive cooperation with Belcel, the Belarusian mobile communications joint venture of BelTelecom and CIBBV, Netherlands, which assigns its mobile broadband retail business to Velcom and in exchange gets a 50% revenue share.“With this cooperation Velcom once again brings innovation and convenience to the market. This cooperation provides our customers with a mature mobile broadband service and a future proof upgrade possibility, once even more advanced technology will become available in Belarus”, says Helmut Duhs, Chief Executive Officer of Velcom.
“The cooperation concluded today allows Belcel to increase quality and capacity of its network significantly while customer service and sales of EV-DO mobile broadband services will be handled by the renown mobile communication operator Velcom", explains Konstantin Tikar, General Director of BelTelecom jointly with Fayez Al Araj, Chairman of BelCel.
