Telekom Austria Group Closes Acquisition of the Austrian Mobile Operations of Tele2
Vienna, March 31, 2008: The Telekom Austria Group (VSE: TKA, OTC US: TKAGY) today announced that it has closed the acquisition of the Austrian mobile operation of Tele2, after receipt of the approval of the relevant antitrust authorities.
The Telekom Austria Group agreed in October 2007 to acquire the entire mobile communication operations of Tele2 in Austria for an enterprise value of approximately EUR 7 million.
Tele2 has previously operated as mobile virtual network operator on a competitor’s network. Upon closing the entire Austrian mobile communication customer base of Tele2 of over 100,000 customers will be migrated to mobilkom austria’s network.
