Telekom Austria Group: A1/mobilkom austria one of the Top 25 ‘Best Workplaces in Europe’

  • The Great Place to Work® Institute has announced the ‘100 Best Workplaces in Europe’ 2010 following a large-scale employee satisfaction survey;
  • Telekom Austria Group’s mobile subsidiary, A1, is 22nd out of 100 in the large company category;


Vienna, May 20, 2010: The Telekom Austria Group (VSE: TKA, OTC US: TKAGY) today announced that its mobile subsidiary, A1, has ranked number 22 in the Great Place to Work® Institute’s “100 Best Workplaces in Europe” large company category (500+ employees). This ranking is the outcome of large-scale domestic workplace studies, which saw the participation of more than 1,300 companies in 17 European countries.

A total of 25 Austrian companies took part in the European ranking. A1 made it to the number 4 position among the best domestic employers, with fairness, pride and team orientation being among the main drivers for the employees’ perception of the company as a great place to work. In March 2010, A1 also won first place as the best employer in the Austrian mobile communications industry following an Austrian employee satisfaction survey for the third time in a row.

The 2010 “100 Best Workplaces in Europe” survey, which is conducted by the Great Place to Work® Institute on an annual basis, took place in 17 European countries and saw the participation of 293,911 employees, which are represent a total of 1.6 million employees Europe-wide. The Institute uses its Trust Index© employee survey to create the list of the 100 Best Workplaces in Europe. Based on a questionnaire of 58 standardized questions and one open query, the Institute analyzes the relationship of the workforce with the management, with other colleagues and with work activities.
